Project Cargo Network

Project Cargo Network is an ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certified organization established in August 2010 to provide heavy lift and project cargo specialists access to a trusted, worldwide network of agents who can handle their specialist shipments, whilst working professionally and safely under strict Membership Rules. With the head office based in UK, there are about 248 specialist members and 18000+ staff available to make your transportation and forwarding solutions desirable. Their network comprises of 245+ companies who handle the transportation of oversized heavy items or shipments that consist of complex components.
These highly specialist shipments require individual transport planning from origin to destination. Projects come from many sectors including oil and gas, pulp and paper, automotive, construction, power and energy, as well as aid cargo.

Shipments include generators, turbines, reactors, boilers, towers, casting, heaters, presses, boats and satellites. In the offshore industry parts of oil rigs and production platforms are also moved and some are disassembled at the end of an installation’s working life.

The complexity involved in moving these shipments as quickly, safely, and as economically as possible requires collaborative partnership and evidence of this is displayed in the Network News and Digital Newsletters. PCN also requires that the members meet in person at the Annual Summits.

Together, their members have the ability to handle complex transport logistics, whether it is cargo shipped as Break Bulk, Heavy Lift, or Out of Gauge.

To ensure that they recruit the top specialists in the industry, membership is only open to companies who have proven to have the experience to handle full-scale project cargo and heavy lift shipments.

The PCN Head Office offers full-time pro-active management from a strong team who regularly issues online news articles and digital newsletters. They also form collaborations with top industry exhibitions.

PCN also offers professional online training. The clear and highly effective 6 module online courses cover industry terminology, dimensions, weights and forces, heavy transport, heavy lifting, jacking, skidding and loadouts. Once the course is completed, the user will understand the practical, operational, and engineering aspects of heavy transport and lifting projects.

Besides the benefits of not having to travel, there are additional advantages to the eLearning Platform such as being able to stop and start the training at the users’ convenience with no deadlines.

Today, Project Cargo Network has an international presence that extends to over 730 worldwide offices in 116 countries with over 18,350 staff members.
